It’s been a hot minute since the creative buzz of the Place of Plenty project lit up 2025, culminating in our final showcase in November.

We’re thrilled to now share a few of the final musical tracks created at Grow the Music Studio by a collective of incredibly talented and wildly creative young people (aka the Bongil Creators) from the Bongil Bongil Youth Collective, alongside other young people from Toormina and the 2452 area.

The Place of Plenty project unfolded across a series of phases, co-designed by the Place of Plenty Project Subcommittee. These phases included artist-led workshops and activities, weekly music storytelling and creation sessions at Grow the Music Studio, and the curation of a community exhibition showcasing the artworks and music created throughout the project.

At the heart of it all was a commitment to co-design, youth participation, and community engagement — ensuring young people were leading the creative process every step of the way.

The musical phase of the project unfolded over many weeks, with young people writing songs and sharing stories inspired by their experiences of living in Toormina. The journey culminated in four professionally recorded tracks, which were presented alongside corresponding artworks at the Place of Plenty Showcase.

The result? A powerful snapshot of creativity, identity and place — told through music.

Have a listen below. We think you’ll agree the creativity, talent and dedication behind these tracks are pretty special… honestly, we reckon KFC might have a new jingle on their hands.
