Join us for a vibrant community celebration showcasing the creativity of local young people, with works created through the Place of Plenty workshops.
On Friday 28 November from 6–8pm, the Sawtell Caravan Park Hall will be transformed into a vibrant hub of creativity and performance. The Place of Plenty Showcase Exhibition invites everyone to come together and celebrate the incredible work of local young people. Best of all—it’s free to attend.
The showcase is the result of months of creative workshops under the project ‘Place of Plenty’ co-designed by the Bongil Bongil Youth Collective (BBYC), a local youth-led group passionate about raising the voices and visibility of young people in our area. ‘Place of Plenty’ is open to all young people in the 2452 postcode aged 11-18 and is based on the idea of ‘place’ and connection to our community.
Young people have been busy creating a range of visual arts, musical storytelling and performance pieces that centre on their favourite places around Sawtell, Toormina and the Bongil Bongil.
But Place of Plenty is more than an exhibition—it’s about connection. Each artwork is a reflection of young people’s experiences in the 2452 community, woven together to create a space where everyone is welcome, included, and inspired.
Over the past year, BBYC has worked alongside community partners to run workshops that give young people the tools and confidence to explore their creativity. This exhibition is the moment to showcase that journey and invite the wider community to see just how much talent and passion lives here.
Whether you’re a parent, a young person, a teacher, or simply someone who values community, this is an event not to miss. Come along, connect with others, and celebrate the creativity that makes 2452 such a special place.
