That spirit is what drives Table 2452, a community dining initiative held three to four times a year, where the Bongil Bongil Youth Collective join forces with local partners, The Hilltop Store, to host seasonal community meals where everyone is welcome.

Table 2452 is more than just dinner. It’s a celebration of collaboration, connection, and inclusion. Young people from BBYC play a central role, working alongside the Hilltop Store’s chefs to prepare and cook the food, welcoming guests as they arrive, serving meals, and even promoting the event. Their energy and leadership help create a warm, vibrant atmosphere where everyone feels welcome.

The engagement and feedback so far has been impressive. Each event has drawn up to 100 attendees, with neighbours, families, and friends sitting side by side to share stories and connect over delicious food. The focus has always been on inclusivity—breaking down barriers and creating a space where people can simply enjoy each other’s company.

Looking ahead, Table 2452 is set to grow. Future meals will take place across the Bongil Bongil Community of Schools network, allowing for even greater diversity and engagement. By moving the initiative into different school communities, Table 2452 will not only reach more people but also deepen its roots as a truly community-wide event.

At its heart, Table 2452 is about more than food—it’s about building relationships, strengthening community spirit, and celebrating what happens when people come together around the table.
