Nambucca Valley Open Streets Project: A Call to Action for Youth
Young people in the Nambucca Valley are set to make a mark on their community through an exciting new opportunity to design and deliver a community street festival this November.
The Nambucca Valley Open Streets Project, led by the Nambucca Valley Council, invites local youth aged 12-24 to join the Youth Event Crew and take the lead in naming, designing, and running this riverside event on Gumbaynggirr country, under the mentorship of local industry professionals.
Ideas already presented by young people include food and market stalls, music for all tastes, outdoor cinemas, roving performers, car and motorcross displays, amusements and a never-before-seen street parade incorporating music, dance, lanterns, puppets and something to light up the sky…
